Online Roulette versus Conventional Roulette

Roulette is one of the oldest and popular casino games that involve betting. With the online casinos becoming readily available through the Internet the popularity of the game has increased significantly. Whether you play roulette online or conventionally the game is all about the luck of the individual player. While it may not be possible for you to go to a casino always, online Roulette can be accessed whenever you want to play.
In the Conventional Roulette the casinos have a wheel colored red and black. People are required to bet on the numbers ranging from 0 to 36 incase of the European Roulette and 0 to 37 in the American version given on the wheel, with an additional 00. Every live casino has croupiers who spin the wheel in a particular direction and the ball in the opposite direction. When the Roulette wheel spins, the ball spins too, covering the whole circumference. In due course, the ball loses its speed and falls into any of the number slot on the wheel. The casino operator then gives out the winning number and highlights the winning area on the wheel. No bets are entertained at this moment. Eventually the winning sum is given out and the live roulette dealer sweeps away the rest of the money lost by the players.
Online Roulette too is somewhat similar to playing the game in a real casino. Of course you being in Las Vegas would require driving around in search of a suitable casino to place your bets, but here you can do it in the comfort of your home. All you will need is a computer and an internet connection. You will need to register yourself to some Roulette site and then proceed. Also, here you cannot play with chips as in the conventional Roulette, but must click on virtual chips and go on collecting them in the screen instead of piling them on the table. Online Roulette has no option of spinning the wheel and here the ball placement is decided by computer software or Random Number Generator. Here you will be missing the usual hustle bustle, the croupiers, and a scintillating atmosphere but will be spared from the glare you will have to face when you win.
Another significant difference between the two is that online offers free registration and you can learn the game without loosing money. But in the real casinos when you decide to play you will have to put money to bet. Only possible option to learn for free would be to watch others play on a program like live roulette TV.
Whether you play in the conventional style or online, Roulette is one of the most exciting forms of gambling and you must experience it once in your life!
15 mins of roulette a day
by admin on Feb.16, 2009, under Playing Roulette
Not sure if i have blogged about this before but I was looking at systems again today, roulette betting systems and things like that. The main one which popped up everywhere with no escape from it is the martingale system. Some later on tonight I am going to test the system out using a free play account, to be fair i will limit my playing time to 15 minutes and see what’s up, or down. 15 minutes is my allocated time on testing the system over 2 weeks or 14 days as an experiment.
Wikipedia have a whole article about the martingale system here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martingale_(betting_system) - you can read all that but its basically doubling up if you lose.
With all gambing you face a win or lose situation, ultimately those are the two possible outcomes. Most of the time casinos win, this is because gamblers never really know when to quit. For this reason I limit my playing to either time or money.
So for the next two weeks I am playing roulette for 15 minutes a day while testing out the martingale system. The results will be posted once the experiment is complete. Wish me luck
A spin on the roulette wheel
by admin on Feb.10, 2009, under Playing Roulette
Tonight i fancied a spin on the roulette wheel after watching some program on bbc tv with Louis Theroux about gambers in vegas, well that got me in the mood and i had a fiver to spare. Did a quick search for a good looking live roulette online website and found one of my favourite bookies. Check out the review of bet fred casino and have a look at the site, pretty good actually and was super easy because they took paypal, that was a bonus.
Using the martingale system, that one where you double up and go crazy until you either lose or get your money back. I managed to make it last for about 9 spins at the table min of 5, not to bad but i lost it all in the end, pretty addictive and its fun to have the dealer talk to you. Might go back and put some more in at the weekend and see if i can win my money back, they have some kind of bonus offer that i’ll have to look into .
Played a bit of roulette

Over Christmas i took a break and played some roulette which if you were in France would mean little or small wheel, this is because the game came from there. Anyway i had a great time and i played at a few places. I thought because it was Christmas i would play for money, i was only playing on the small tables with limits of £1 and 25 at bet 365 roulette, I found the review over at a live roulette site so thought id give it a go.
IT was funny to watch the chatter box, one person thought they were on their own and the only one playing roulette in the world then suddenly about 20 other people started typing stuff in like hello and happy Christmas, it was funny you could even see the dealer laughing.
Every now and again they would type stuff in between spins. One night i walked away with a profit but i had a few drinks the next night and lost it all. Drinking and playing gambling games is never a good idea, take my word for it, its a good thing i was only playing on the smaller tables.
While playing i did get one opportunity to play the martingale system which one me a pound back, there had been a run of 9 blacks so reds were my bet, starting with a quid then doubling to two if i lost then 4 etc. At this point everyone was talking in the chat bit saying Red,red red! it was a tense few minutes and thankfully eventually the ball bounced about and finally settled in a red so this ment i was up a quid but it took a few goes and at one point i didnt know if i had enough chips to survive. Thats the problem with that system you can quickly reach the limits and if the colour still hasnt rolled in you are doomed. Changed strategy after that and i was just betting on anything i felt to be lucky. I enjoyed playing at the 365 site, while i was there blackjack attracted me and i played a couple of hands, much prefer roulette though.
